What should we pay attention to before taking a sauna?
Here are some precautions before entering a sauna:
1. physical preparation. If you don’t feel well, especially in cases such as having a cold and fever, severe cardiovascular diseases, uncontrolled hypertension, or diabetic ketoacidosis, it’s better not to use the sauna. Because when in a high-temperature environment of the sauna, it will impose an additional burden on the body’s systems. For example, in patients with hypertension, blood pressure may rise abnormally in a high-temperature environment, leading to danger.

2.prepare personal items. Bring a clean bath towel to wipe off sweat during the sauna session, and also wear appropriate slippers to ensure walking safety and avoid slipping.

3.considerations regarding diet. Don’t use the sauna when you are full or overly hungry. When full, the body needs a large amount of blood for digestion. However, when using the sauna, blood will flow to the body surface, which may lead to indigestion. In a hungry state, the body has insufficient energy reserves, and it is easy to experience discomfort such as dizziness in a high-temperature environment. It is best to enter the sauna 1 to 2 hours after a meal.

4.Cleanliness. You should take a shower before entering the sauna. This can clean the dirt on the skin surface, unclog the pores, and make it easier to sweat in the sauna, achieving a better relaxation and detoxification effect.
